Prodded by Punkmorten (talk · contribs) because "Never played in a professional league, so not notable." I believe the deletion should be discussed but as I am the article's creator I obviously thought the player was notable, but if not the article should be deleted, so I am remaining neutral. - This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football related deletions. GiantSnowman 13:47, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Further comments - can someone with access to PlayerHistory.com please double check exactly what teams he has played for? Thanks, GiantSnowman 13:53, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment FYI, the guideline you probably need to look at is WP:ATHLETE, which should help figure out if he's notable or not. Not knowing anything about Spanish football teams, professional or not, I don't have any particular opinion on this article. ~ mazca talk 13:56, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete-there are no references to reliable sources to verify and establish the notability of this person. One External link does not establish the notability of this football player, it also fails the WP:BIO adn WP:ATHLETE guidelines.--SRX--LatinoHeat 13:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. While the biography notability guidelines set a higher bar for athletes than for other people, and I don't know enough about the status of soccer teams or leagues in those remote and benighted lands where people actually pay to watch it, it is generally fairly trivial for any semi-pro or good amateur athlete to meet the basic notability standard of disinterested, third party commentary. Here, even many high school amateur athletes in widely followed sports like real football and basketball meet that standard fairly handily, and I suspect soccer is the same way. All we have here, apparently, is a listing on an Internet maintained roster. If he meets the basic standard, there'd be at least some sourceable discussion discussing his play on his teams, and adding that would help make the case for inclusion. - Smerdis of Tlön (talk) 13:59, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd say the bar is way lower for sportspeople than for other people. Punkmorten (talk) 14:21, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I read it a bit differently. There is an awful lot of writing about sports, including school amateur sports by juvenile athletes, that would appear to meet the basic standard of verifiable, disinterested coverage. The specific guideline insists on professional or high level amateur play in addition to what the basic guideline requires. - Smerdis of Tlön (talk) 15:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment As an account holder at Playerhistory, I've added his available from there, but don't think he's participated in a professional league. Mattythewhite (talk) 14:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete as prodder - I don't see any professional appearances. Punkmorten (talk) 14:21, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak Delete - none of those teams is particularly notable, but they are professional teams --T-rex 15:40, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete I don't believe any of the leagues he has played in are fully pro, and therefore he fails WP:ATHLETE. пﮟოьεԻ 57 21:35, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
