Brian Brotherston
- Brian Brotherston (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
No evidence is provided that this football player and manager worked at a fully professional level. London Hearts doesn't list him. A google search for "Brian Brotherston" + Meadowbank only provides three results, all of which are this article. A google search for "Brian Brotherston" "heart of midlothian" only provides nine results, most of which are this article. A google search for "Brian Brotherston" "ferranti" only provides five results, most of which are this article.
There are two book references given in the article, but I suspect these are in support of the trivial piece of information that he signed professional forms with Hearts at a very young age. There is no evidence that he played or managed at a professional level and he therefore fails both WP:N and WP:ATHLETE. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 11:02, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete - not listed here as having played for Hearts, or here as having played for Ferranti/Meadowbank/Livingston (who didn't play in a fully pro league in the 1970s/80s anyway) -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 11:13, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Weak keep pending review of sources. I contested the PROD primarily on the strength of the book sources cited. While it is possible that Brotherston only receives a trivial mention in the 1984 book, it would be best to review the original source to ascertain the facts. - Question. If verifiable isn't was the youngest ever Scottish schoolboy signed professional football player. worth mentioning somewhere in the project. Nfitz (talk) 05:43, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't think so, you have kids younger than 10 years old who are affiliated to football clubs nowadays via their youth academies.[1] Jmorrison230582 (talk) 06:59, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
