Could you keep an eye on Newport City Council? The campaign group are making persistent efforts to insert POV details (ungrammatically), so it could do with some extra eyes on it. Thanks. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:36, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kenneth Budd, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Snow Hill railway station (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Frances Richards
Thanks for your contributions to this article.
You changed (''toiles brodées'') to (''{{lang|fr|[[toiles brodées]]}}''). I understand labelling this as French, but do the square brackets indicate that you are anticipating a new article with this title? Verbcatcher (talk) 00:15, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- A new article or a redirect, though any page to which the redirect links should include and explain the term, which none appear to, currently. And thank you for your work on this interesting subject. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:56, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- I don't speak French fluently, but I think toiles brodées means embroidered canvasses, which is close to "Embroidered fabric panels". I put the term here to clarify the titles of exhibitions later in the article. This could redirect to Embroidery, but I don't know enough about the subject to introduce the term on that page. Verbcatcher (talk) 13:33, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Fair enough. That's the beauty of and red links, and of Wikipedia; sooner or later someone who has the required knowledge will come along and do the necessary. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:38, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Note
AFAIK, the accepted conduct regarding editing disputes at Wikipedia is WP:BRD. This is what I am asking you to follow, since you made the initial change. Note that I agree with your other edit and so did not revert it. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 18:31, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
- You're not asking, you're demanding. Contrary to your edit summary there, I'm not required to do anything. And you made an edit to a stable page, which I reverted, so the BRD ball is, if anywhere, in your court. But you chose to edit war instead. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:53, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- No, you "made an edit to a stable page", which was first reverted by another user and then by me. You're the pot calling the kettle black regarding edit warring. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 12:57, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, and before you start trying to cherrypick essays to pretend are as polices, try reading WP:DNRNC. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:01, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

- Really? How exactly am I "lying"? Come to think of it, how about taking this to the actual discussion where it belongs? Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 13:11, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- You're lying by saying things which are untrue. And it was you who brought the discussion here, not me. HTH. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:15, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- I only brought the discussion regarding your policy-violating conduct here. The content discussion belongs at the talk page. Also, you still haven't stated what I'm "lying" about, and I again ask that you do so at the talk page, not here. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 13:18, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- I haven't violated any policy, so that's another lie. Therefore: Go away. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:24, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

The article Michael Kirk (butcher) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Looks like a stub working as an advertisement rather than an encyclopedia article about a notable person to me, but I'll defer to editors who know the BLP notability guidelines better than I if I am mistaken.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sports data
Andy, your comment at VPT intrigued me. I'm not sure whether this should be pursued at VPT or elsewhere. I know you know this subject matter better than I do, so I hope you can point in the right direction so I can get up to speed. While I was looking for a lightweight way to automate 33 women's basketball standing templates, I also had hopes to pursue a relationship with a sports stats company. I don't have a current relationship, but I'm willing to try. The challenge of course, it how to convince a for profit company to provide us with data on a daily basis for free. My vague plan was to promise that all templates using their data would include a link to the source, so anyone checking out the data would see where it came from. Stats.com is the 500 pound gorilla, I believe. I don't know whether they would be amenable to a relationship. I recently stumbled across a smaller provider, and I thought if the big gorilla wasn't interested, we would partner with a smaller outfit, who would see it as a way to improve visibility. These are treacherous waters, but I'd like to try.--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:59, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
