English: The governor and other public officials pose with Chabad Rabbi Mendel Alperowitz, South Dakota's only rabbi, in front of a Hanukkah menorah at the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre, South Dakota, as part of a Hanukkah celebration organized by Chabad-Lubavitch on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, the fourth night of the eight-day holiday. The menorah lighting is part of Chabad-Lubavitch's worldwide Hanukkah campaign that includes 15,000 large public menorahs in more than 90 countries around the world, including in front of landmarks such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower, and the Kremlin. The campaign was set into motion by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, in 1973.
