Political career
Kelley started his political career in 2022 when he ran for a seat in the Alabama Senate. He ran in a hotly contested primary where he originally lost by 4%, but it was close enough to trigger a runoff where he won by 10%. In the general election he had a landslide victory of over 40%.[2][3]
