An article's assessment is generated from the class and importance parameters in the {{WikiProject Organizations}} banner on its talk page.

The following values may be used for the class parameter:
- FA (adds articles to Category:FA-Class organization articles)
- A (adds articles to Category:A-Class organization articles)
- GA (adds articles to Category:GA-Class organization articles)
- B (adds articles to Category:B-Class organization articles)
- Start (adds articles to Category:Start-Class organization articles)
- Stub (adds articles to Category:Stub-Class organization articles)
- NA (for pages, such as templates or disambiguation pages, where assessment is unnecessary; adds pages to Category:NA-Class organization articles)
Articles for which a valid class is not provided are listed in Category:Unassessed organization articles. The class should be assigned according to the quality scale below.
The following values may be used for the importance parameter:
- Top (adds articles to Category:Top-importance organization articles)
- High (adds articles to Category:High-importance organization articles)
- Mid (adds articles to Category:Mid-importance organization articles)
- Low (adds articles to Category:Low-importance organization articles)
The parameter is not used if an article's class is set to NA, and may be omitted in those cases. The importance should be assigned according to the importance scale below.

Top | Subject is a must-have for a print encyclopaedia | Includes high-level topical treatment of organizational subjects (e.g. Organization, NGO, Nonprofit) plus the most important world-wide organizations such as the UN, World Bank, and the IRC. |
High | Subject contributes a depth of knowledge | Includes topical treatment of specialized organizational subjects (e.g.Organizational structure, Matrix management, Parliamentary authority) plus various world-wide organizations and continent-wide or broad regional organizations such as the NATO and the AU. |
Mid | Subject fills in more minor details | Includes specialized organizational subjects plus regional and national organizations. |
Low | Subject is peripheral knowledge, possibly trivial | Includes all other notable organizations. |
