Your editing to infoboxes
- Regarding deletion of the Barry Beath / teeth reference; I'm not sure that it was meaningless, unencyclopedic perhaps !! I wrote it a long time ago, I guess we've moved on !!Sticks66 13:43, 9 September 2014 (UTC) Hi Sticks66- as a big fan of the football prowess of Barry Beath, I really believe the 'teeth' reference was a not quite in the spirit of who he was as a player and his achievements, but I understand your point. He was a great player and a real favorite of mine as a young dragons supporter in the early 1970s, and I was and still am delighted that he finished his career in the 1977 grand final - Vox3000 (talk) 09.10, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
No, I never have contributed to any other old Dragons stuff. To be honest, I am unsure which sites you mean. I went to Kogarah Oval, as a boy, with my dad from age 8 in 1971. I went to the 1971,1975 both 1977, 1979 and 1985 grand finals and was (and still am) a massive Dragons fan. I loved all the players and used to go to Kogarah at midday and watch all three grades for years and years. It was a fantasic time in my life. Vox3000 (talk) 09:17, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Hi Sticks
The fantastic local history department at Rockdale Library is the best resource for old footballers, digitalized and other copies of the 'St George Call', The 'Leader' and other extinct newspapers from the St George District. Old interviews with people who knew (at the club), conducted by me over a 30 year period, old 'Rugby league News' & 'Big League magazine' of the 1960s & 1970s often mention players of the past. Internet resources such as Trove, Ancestry.com, Google News Archive (newspapers), anything previously researched by Ian Heads (The March of the Dragons - 1989) or Alan Whiticker & Glen Hudson eg. Encyclopedia of Rugby League Players - the best bible on Australian rugby league that anyone can ever read. I so appreciate this Wikipedia forum, so I can add my vast knowledge to something as worthwhile as this , as I have plenty to contribute. Vox3000 (talk) 09.28, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Tips
I've just responded to your earlier email. Only just saw it I'm sorry. When I was starting out I kept a track of many handy tips other editors gave me. I still have that list here My Handy Tools & Tips it may be of some interest. There are these cheatsheets too that might be worth a read Icons Cheatsheet and All-in-one Editing Guide. Go for it, or as Mark Gasnier once famously said, "Fire Up". -Sticks66 12:58, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Played for Oldham in the 1968 Lancashire Cup?
Hi Vox3000, would I be correct in assuming that Ken Wilson (rugby league) is not the same Ken Wilson that played for Oldham in the 1968 Lancashire Cup? Best Regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 17:07, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Flags in Infoboxes
Hi! I've noticed you've been adding a bundle of flags to infoboxes. As I understand, this has been voted on in the past and was decided against. It's also covered by MOS:FLAG. I believe it's considered especially poor form to give undue weight to someone's nation of birth because they could actually be playing for another nation. Personally, I don't care one way or another, but it's probably best to discuss before adding any more. Doctorhawkes (talk) 07:43, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
Pat Quinn
Hi Vox3000, thanks for the edits to Pat Quinn. Just a quick query, I'd used the ≤ (the 'less than or equal to' symbol), and the ≥ (the 'more than or equal to' symbol) to define his known 'from' and 'to' years at a particular club, not the actual 'from' and 'to' years, i.e. I know Pat Quinn played in the he 1957 Challenge Cup final, but was he at Leeds before 1957 (probably), and after 1957 (probably)? I noticed that you've removed these symbols, meaning there are gaps in his career, are you able to confirm Pat Quinn's 'from' and 'to' years at a particular club. Best regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 10:47, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, a good spot, it looks like they're two separate rugby players named Pat Quinn; the Australian rugby league, and the English rugby union/rugby league. I'll attempt to separate them in my next available free time. Best regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 14:28, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- There… done it, but the Pat Quinn (rugby league) could do with some references. Best regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 17:27, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

The article Bert Holcroft has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Llammakey (talk) 17:22, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

Photo of Les Griffin. | |
Hi Vox3000,
I want to thank you for uploading the photo of Les Griffin. Les Griffin was my Granddad and believe it or not no one else in the family has ever had a photo of him before, I have no idea why? So your photo you added is the first photo I have seen of him and is now treasured beyond value with my family. My only memories of him were from the 60's and early 70's, so he looked much different in his older years compared to your photo of him, which I estimate would put him around 28yrs old. Thank you very, very sincerely, Brad Griffin. BradG59 (talk) 03:17, 13 April 2020 (UTC) |

Rose Tattoo
In the Rose Tattoo article: could you provide a reliable source for Dallas "Digger" Royall dying in 1989 and not 1991. Both sources in the article have the latter year, which you changed to 1989. I also can't find any mention of his being in Western Australia, at that time.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 02:20, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- I have changed the death year back to 1991. If you have a better reliable source than Nimmervoll or Alkeny then provide it before changing the year to 1989.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 11:36, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
You image uploads
You have uploaded a lot of image with a claimed source of "My private photo of ..." and you claim to be the copyright holder. I have nominated for deletion a few images which appear to be scanned and cropped from trading cards or news photos. A cursory glance of a few other photos picked at random indicate they are likely also scans and crops from the same such sources as those nominated for deletion. Scanning / cropping of somebody else's photo does not transfer the copyright to you, nor does being in physical possession of a photo. Can you please explain. -- Whpq (talk) 17:04, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- I have deleted the said erroneous images and apologise in advance -- Vox3000 (talk) 10:18, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- That does not explain all of you other images. They all look like image scans. -- Whpq (talk) 00:20, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- Most of my huge collection of Australian Rugby League photos are very old and I claim full ownership as many of them have been either taken by my grandfather, father and myself over a period of 70 years. All images I have posted of course have been scanned, cleaned up and restored by by me for purpose of expanding Wikipedia with the best of intentions. Vox3000 (talk) 17:04, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Barry beath.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Barry beath.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.dansnrlcollectables.com/contents/en-us/p6206.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
